There is no more highly anticipated or hotly contest list produced by Arabian Business than the 100 Most Influential Arabs in the World. And here it is.
The men and women selected this year excel in so many facets of life – business, media, fashion, sport, medicine, science or activism.
Many have taken a strong stand to fight for what they believe in; others have sacrificed years of blood, sweat and tears to pursue a better life for the people in their communities, countries or the world. Many have succeeded in some of the most difficult businesses to break – like entertainment, elite sport and science.

This year’s list stretches into more corners of the globe than any before it.
There are new entries from Romania, the Philippines and Vietnam, alongside countries such as Australia, the US and France, where the Arab diaspora has been making an impact for some time.
It is fabulous to see the expertise and prowess of so many Arabs in so many parts of the world, but it is also important that still more than two-thirds are standing out in their home region.
As more Arab youth become entrepreneurs we expect their representation within the region to grow, too.
How we did it:
As we always say, influence is subjective. But we believe we have selected 100 Arabs whose impact cannot be disputed.
We started by searching for high calibre Arabs living in each and every country on the planet. With a long list of more than 1,000 candidates, we assessed them based on the impact that their work has on the public, and their power to influence decisions and the population’s views. We have excluded members of Arab world governments and ruling families.
As our list demonstrates, Arabs are making a mark across the world, but also in almost every field.
With so many incredible achievements, it is not an easy task to whittle the best down to just 100. And while not everyone will agree with those selected, we hope that it will be viewed as a celebration of the Arabs doing exceptional things around the world.
